About

Hello, there!

5 years ago, I started this blog as a 30 year old California native who moved back to the state after being away for 10 years. In that time, I found my husband and a career that I loved. After losing my mom, I quit my teaching job and asked my husband to move back to California. I came back fulfilled and confident, but completely broken after having now lost both parents. I started sharing my experiences with grief as a way to try to put back the pieces as I figured out how to honor both of them while truly being happy and moving forward.

Since I started writing, my life has completely changed. While I continued to share the waves of grief I experience from losing my parents, my husband and I decided to open up about our journey to become parents. After enduring many months of fertility treatments, we became parents to our beautiful daughter, Lydia. A year later, we decided to undergo fertility treatments again and we became pregnant. Sadly, we found out at 12 weeks that we had lost our baby girl. While we were only beginning to heal, we were surprised with a positive pregnancy test on Mothers’ Day. Now, I’m experiencing pregnancy for the third time, with both extreme joy and intense sadness as I navigate the emotions of the loss of my second daughter and upcoming arrival of my third. And I’m trying my best to write through it all.

I choose to talk about the tough stuff because while I believe in gratitude and positivity, I also believe in transparency. And the only way we can truly be ourselves is to stop hiding the parts of us we don’t want others to see. And there is true beauty in the friendships formed through shared experiences.

I try to live my life in a way that allows me to embrace the gift of each new day while giving myself space to grieve my losses. I’m constantly trying to become a more patient mama while I strengthen my relationship with God and build a stronger relationship with my love. And of course, I spend the pockets of my day helping others find their happiness.

And I’m happy you’re here to read all about it!
